Questions
Everything people ask before they order
Walk-ins, payment, allergies, parking and delivery cut-offs. If your question is not here, ring the shop and we will answer it properly.
Visiting the shop
Walk-ins are always welcome during shop hours — Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm — and there is usually a good selection of ready-wrapped bouquets in the buckets from mid-morning. Bespoke arrangements made while you wait take around 20 minutes. Weddings, funeral tributes and large events do need booking: a wedding consultation is best arranged four to six months ahead, and sympathy work should be phoned through as early on the day as possible.
There is metered on-street parking on Whitworth Street West directly outside, free after 8pm and on Sundays, plus the NCP Great Northern car park a four-minute walk away. Deansgate-Castlefield Metrolink stop is 300 metres from the door and Deansgate rail station is a five-minute walk. The shop has step-free level access from the pavement, a doorway clear of 900mm, and open floor space for wheelchairs and pushchairs. An accessible toilet is available on request and assistance dogs are very welcome.
Booking & orders
Four to six months ahead is ideal, and twelve months if you are marrying in peak season between May and September. Your free consultation takes about 45 minutes, either in the shop or by video call, and you leave with a costed proposal and a mood board. We hold your date on a 25% deposit and you can adjust quantities up until fourteen days before, when the balance and the final order are confirmed.
Flowers are perishable and made to order, so we cannot accept returns, but we guarantee every arrangement for seven days from delivery. If something wilts early, send us a photograph within 48 hours and we will replace it or refund you in full. Because we buy fresh at market each morning, we occasionally substitute a stem of equal or greater value in the same colour and style — we will always call first on wedding and sympathy orders.
Delivery
Order by 1pm Monday to Saturday and we will hand-deliver the same afternoon anywhere inside the M60. Sunday same-day orders need to be in by 11am. Delivery inside Manchester city centre is £5, Greater Manchester is £8, and delivery is free on orders over £75. Selected bouquets are also listed on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat for evening delivery when the shop is closed.
Payment
We accept all major debit and credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and contactless. Cash is welcome in the shop. Wedding orders are secured with a 25% deposit and the balance is due fourteen days before the date. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly on 30-day terms. We do not accept cheques.
Allergies & dietary
Absolutely, and please do tell us when you order. We keep a low-pollen list and can build arrangements entirely from pollen-free or low-allergen stems such as roses, ranunculus, orchids, freesia and hydrangea. Lily stamens are removed as standard on every arrangement that leaves the shop. If the flowers are for a hospital, a nursery or a scent-sensitive workplace, ask for our fragrance-free option. Note that lilies are toxic to cats, so let us know if the recipient has one.
Yes. Our gift add-ons include Manchester-made chocolate truffles, shortbread and vegan brownies, plus edible-flower cake toppers. Every edible item carries full ingredient labelling with the fourteen regulated allergens emphasised, in line with Natasha's Law, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are marked on the shelf and on the price list. Ask a member of staff for the full allergen folder — we keep it behind the counter.
Still not sure? Just ask.
There is always a florist in the shop during opening hours, and we would far rather talk it through than have you guess.
